Compaq PCI RAID Array Wide Ultra SCSI Hard Drive controller.

It will handle up to 7 Wide Ultra SCSI-3 & 7 Fast Wide SCSI-2 or 14 FAST WIDE SCSI-2 and all lower SCSI drives. The SMART-2/P Array Controller (Spare part #194754-001) Rev. B, with latest updated bios (v4.16) from Compaq, combines configuration flexibility and intelligent storage management to ensure continuous high-performance. storage in RAID configurations, eliminating the need to back-up,
reconfigure, and restore Array Configuration. Host Interface: 32-bit PCI
bus-master technology delivers information at rates up to 133 MB/s.

This card has Two Channels, the internal channel provides support for (WUS)
Wide Ultra SCSI-3, and the external channel for Fast-Wide SCSI-2 , and will
provide over 300 GB of high-availability storage. The Enhanced Array
Accelerator: 4-MB ECC-protected and battery-backed removable read/write
cache, maximizes I/O performance without sacrificing data integrity.

Several fault tolerance configurations are supported including:

Distributed Data Guarding (RAID 5): Allocates parity data across multiple drives and allows simultaneous write operations,

Data Guarding (RAID 4): Writes parity data to a single, designated drive.

Mirroring (RAID 1): Allocates half of the drive array to mirroring the other half, providing two copies of every file.
It also has Hot-Pluggable Drive Support, allowing drives to be removed or added without powering down the System.

Storage Capacity: One Wide Ultra SCSI-3 channel allows support for up to 7 drives & One FAST WIDE SCSI-2 channel with 7 drives or Two Fast-Wide SCSI-2
channels allow support for up to fourteen Fast-SCSI-2 or Fast-Wide SCSI-2
drives, delivering a maximum storage capacity of over 300 GB per controller.

With the SMART-2 Controller external storage capacity is maximized on
Compaq servers. Server Support for SMART-2 Controllers is supported on following systems: ProLiant 850, 850R, 1500, 1500R, 2500, 3000, 5000, 5500, 6000, 6500, and 7000 (any PCI Compaq Server).
