Do you have problems with your Compaq, or Compaq Presario Laptop/Notebook power cord or AC/DC power jack/plug connection: either no power or intermittent power?
Common
Symptoms:
Intermittent power cutouts on the Compaq Presario
laptop/notebook for no reason.
Does not charge a new, or old, properly inserted battery on Compaq Presario
laptop/notebook.
Wiggling or moving the AC/DC power adapter (DC
jack - DC plug) causes temporary connections on the Compaq Presario laptop/notebook.
Sparking, smoking, or burnt smells emanating from the area near the AC/DC power jack
(DC jack - DC plug) on the Compaq Presario laptop/notebook .

Common Causes:
These problems are all usually caused by the
cooling system of the Compaq laptop/notebook
being clogged, and subsequently causing overheating inside the Compaq Presario laptop/notebook.
This causes the solder on the terminals of the AC - DC jack on the Compaq laptop/notebook,
usually the positive, to melt, resulting in a bad connection on the Compaq Presario laptop/notebook. The cooling system is prone to clog because of dust, hairs,
etc. being drawn into the heat exchanger on the Compaq Presario laptop/notebook.
This is primarily caused by hardwood floors and/or your pets - or in one case, if you
raise Chinchillas.
Common Solutions:
To avoid the problem,
clean out the cooling air intake(s) on your Compaq Presario laptop/notebook
weekly for bad situations, and monthly, if you have wall-to-wall carpets, no pets, and you
don't live on a dirt road. You can also find an auxiliary cooling stand to fit on the
bottom of the Compaq Presario laptop/notebook, but this
sometimes exacerbates the problem because it causes more air, and therefore, more crud to
pass through the cooling system on Compaq Presario
laptop/notebook.
And if this advice is too late, you can
send it to us and we will replace (not just re-solder) the DC/AC jack on the Compaq
Presario laptop/notebook motherboard on the Compaq Presario laptop/notebook (most cheapy
COMPAQ DC jack repairs just re-solder the old connector, which will likely lead again to a
quick COMPAQ DC jack failure, since in any wiggling to gain an AC/DC jack connection to
the COMPAQ internal power connector, will weaken the COMPAQ DC jack internal components --
leading to structural DC jack failure).

WE WILL LUBRICATE THE FAN BEARINGS, CLEAN THE CONTACTS ON THE DAUGHTER BOARDS AND MEMORY STICKS, REPLACE ANY MISSING SCREWS, ETC. ON YOUR COMPAQ PRESARIO LAPTOP/NOTEBOOK.
